The Classic Mini as built for the Canadian market had several innovative features during the years it was sold (1972-1976). One of those features made use of a gas tank not found in any other Classic Mini. The gas tank filler neck used external tabs to secure that cap, while all the other Classic Mini tanks have internal tabs. Thus, be sure to check your tank as many of these models have now found their way into the USA! This was also the cap used on Spridgets after 1970, but not for California 1500 Midgets until after Car No. 166301. Also fits late 1971 Austin America.
