This Blow Off valve is for the Peugeot / BMW Mini N14 1.6 Turbo engines, as found in the Peugeot 207/307/308 GT Turbo and BMW Mini Cooper S Turbo fitted with the N14 engines, these are in the Cooper S from 2007 - 2010 and the JCW Cooper S 2007-2012. This valve is recommended for any vehicle where the boost pressure has been increased by an ECU software upgrade and for unmodified vehicles operating in warmer climates, as a solution to the many failures that have occurred.

The most common complaint on the OEM solenoid valve is a split diaphragm preventing the valve from opening fully, or not at all. This doesn’t always result in a check engine light as the valve can still be blown open by the boost pressure. We have seen many valves with this problem .The other problem is that diaphragm retaining ring is made from very thin plastic that goes brittle with heat cycles, and eventually fails. This prevents the diaphragm from sealing with the same problems as mentioned above. This particular failure also results in the valve falling apart upon removal from the turbo, though in extreme cases bits of plastic can enter the turbo and destroy it.

Our alternative is a fully engineered solution offering both significantly improved reliability .Our valve is piston based , with no diaphragm to fail, and of all aluminium construction, it replaces the original unit with a pressure/vacuum operated piston valve that still also retains the desirable OEM ECU control over valve actuation. The valve has been proved on the VAG scene for many years. The spring is interchangeable for different levels of boost, and the solenoid is plug and play with the wiring harness which is included.

NOTE: Some states (like California) have ever tightening requirements for emissions testing and inspections. Always check your current state regulations on compliance for street use before you order.

Question:
Hi! I am looking to buy a blow-off/diverter valve upgrade to get the nice 'woosh' sound when the turbo releases air. I have a 2013 MCS Manual, so I expect either the Mini Cooper Bypass Valve Boost Diverter Upgrade (part G2NME3074) or Mini Cooper Blow Off Valve Upgrade (part G2NME3073) would be what I'm looking for. I can't tell the difference between these two part. Can you explain the difference or why you would pick one over the other? Thanks!

Part # G2NME3074 is recommended for MINIs with increased boost, the G2nme3073 works best with stock boost.

Does the kit come with the necessary bolts to put the block at the sensor and the new BVO valve in?
Answer:
The kit is complete with all the mounting hardware and new lines. The mounting bolts are allen head. These kits are great for increased throttle response and available power!

Question:
Does they blow off valve release 100% into the air? Or is it like A percentage of 50% into the air, and the other 50% is recirculated as the original valve?
Answer:
The blow off does not recirculate.

Here is the function of the factory diverter valve:

The overdrive bypass valve is mounted directly on the exhaust turbocharger. The overdrive bypass valve opens in order to avoid the occurrence of vibration at the pump wheel when the throttle valve closes abruptly (e.g. when shifting gear). With the valve open, a circuit bypassing the compressor is produced.

The overdrive bypass valve prevents "pumping" against the closed throttle valve and therefore improves the engine acoustics. In addition, the exhaust turbocharger responds quickly when the throttle valve is opened again. 

Without the override bypass valve, the exhaust turbocharger would work against the ram pressure of the closed throttle valve and would be slower. The exhaust turbocharger would also have a delayed response when the throttle valve is opened.

The overdrive bypass valve is connected by means of two lines to the ECM. It receives system voltage via the ECM main relay. The ECM drives the overdrive bypass valve on the ground side.
