Equivalent to 6 Imperial gallons

Under load-floor mounted fuel tank for the long wheelbase Classic Mini Van, Estate, and Pickup (excluding the very early side-tank wagon). Made from the original tooling in the U.K. by British Motor Heritage. Because of the outside location of these tanks, below the rear cargo area, they can take a real beating and should be checked periodically for damage and corrosion.
For stainless version, see 21A291E. For budget reproduction version, see 21A292.
These tanks use the original fuel level sender unit which is sold separately, see AAU8340. When replacing the tank you will also require the plastic fitting nuts three (3) each 21A304 and 21A305 plus new screws AB614101 and AB614061 or the whole fitting kit 21A291FK.
Do not forget to replace the 2A2069 sealing ring on the neck bottom and the 14A7057 top neck to body grommet seal.
NOTE: 7.2 gallons (U.S.) is equivalent to 6 Imperial gallons.
Your question has me scratching my head a bit. Standard Mini fuel tanks have a nipple near the bottom (under the area where the sending unit fits where the fuel hose goes). Are you saying yours has a bung with a pipe fitting there? Is this for a sedan or a van/estate?
However, if the sending unit and fuel gauge work - I would modify the tank to accept the new line. The reason is that I doubt a new tank (with a different sending unit) will work with the Innocenti fuel gauges. It's just a guess, but those cars had totally different gauges than the UK Minis.
Hope that Helps
