The fuel (gas) tank sending unit in all late-model Classic Minis and Sprite & Midgets are held in place with a twist-lock bayonet ring. The seal for this assembly is this round flat rubber affair. Usually supplied with new sending units for carb Classic Minis. Not supplied with injection sending unit XNB100380.
Early tanks with screw-in unit, use cork gasket 2H1082.
