Reproduction cast iron clutch slave cylinder for Classic Mini, and Sprites/MG Midgets 1958-66. Horizontally-mounted on top of the flywheel housing and used on all pre-Verto clutches.

See 22A233 for OE version. For repair kit, see GRK4008. For rebuild kit, see GRK4008-KIT.

The Classic Mini clutch slave cylinder is a vital link in the proper operation of the Mini clutch. The master cylinder feeds the slave cylinder to exert the mechanical pressure to dis-engage the clutch. The simple sounding process is only complicated by a worn cylinder. As the wear continues it first will probably bypass, this will mean that the clutch will not stay dis-engaged when holding the pedal down. The next more obvious sign is when you see actual fluid leaking! The slave cylinders are easy to replace! The cylinder bore size is 7/8" diameter. For Pre-Verto style clutches. For Mini Verto clutch cylinder, see part GSY118MS or GSY118 for genuine type.

The same slave cylinder was used in Sprites & Midgets that used combined brake & master cylinders, 948-1098cc from 1958-1966.

Question:
I need a slave cylinder for my 1971 Classic Mini.
Answer:
There are two styles of slave cylinder - "Verto" (GSY118) and "pre-verto" (22A233
Your car SHOULD be the "pre-verto" style clutch, however, it's not a guarantee since these cars are easy and popular to update/modify
HERE IS A LINK to a handy article on identifying the differences.
